Adelaide
Since mid-August over 30 staff from our Adelaide office have been participating in fortnightly runs to help improve their fitness as part of the Corporate Cup Adelaide 2019 presented by ‘Life. Be in it’. There is a bit of friendly competition in the office, with everyone competing to beat each other’s time.
One of our great clients in Adelaide is UnitingSA which a notfor-profit organisation established in 1919 aiming to enrich and support the lives of local South Australians.
In August, Libby Craft (CEO of Uniting SA) joined the team to provide insight into some of the great programs and services they provide. During the month, staff collected over one hundred toothbrushes and other toiletries to donate to Uniting SA for distribution at their Emergency Relief Centre.
Brisbane
Our Brisbane office attended the Queensland University of Technology Accounting School and met some aspiring leaders. They have been invited back to assist students with formulating their professional image both on and offline.
Our Brisbane Business Advisory Manger, Sarah Richmond, recently competed in the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Nice, France placing 32nd in her age group! Sarah bumped into fellow Darwin Director, Sarah McEachern, who was also competing.
Our Brisbane Bookeeping division received the Gold Partner status with Xero. This is quite an achievement reflective of their high level of experience with clients.
Perth
Every few weeks our Perth office hosts another instalment in our working lunch event series. Presentation topics range from “Accounting Considerations for Deceased Estates”, to “Trends in private sector M & A’s ($5M - $50M transactions)”, to “SME Strategy, the what, why and how that every business owner needs to think about”. These sessions are a great way of showcasing our expertise, educating our clients and highlighting our capabilities, which in turn help them along their journey with us.
It has also been an absolute flurry of activity on our Nexia Perth social media platforms with alot of attention being generated from the top quality articles, infographics and videos that we are all producing.
Sydney
Our Sydney office is delighted to welcome Kristina Irish as our new Executive Manager. Kristina has a wealth of experience in a range of operations roles and we are excited to see what she brings to the position.
Following our recent merger, we are excited to announce the opening of our second Sydney office at 44 Market Street in the Sydney CBD. Our Superannuation, Financial Services and Operations Divisions are now settled in and enjoying all the new facilities of the recently refurbished office space.
International
From the 29 October to 2 November, over 240 partners and directors from all firms across the global Nexia Network, including 9 from our Nexia Australia and New Zealand firms, travelled to the 2019 Nexia International Annual Conference in Cape Town, South Africa.
Along with the opportunity to network with colleagues from across the network, attendees enjoyed the opportunity to be in South Africa during the Rugby World Cup final, which proved to be a victory for South Africa.
