About Geoff

Geoff is a Partner of Business Advisory and Internal Audit at Nexia Canberra.

Professional experience

Prior to joining Nexia Canberra, Geoff worked 9 years in the government, not for profit and private sectors in Canberra, as an accountant and financial controller.

He has been responsible for the implementation of several accounting systems for large organisations and retains an interest in the integration of business solutions with accounting products, which lends itself to the provision of strategic accounting and treasury advice to CEO’s of smaller organisations who do not have the capacity to employ an in-house CEO.

Geoff has been with Nexia Canberra for nearly 9 years, and in this time has worked with a diverse range of clients, including;

Australian National University – Prepared the annual financial reports and tax returns for a number of the University subsidiary companies for the past four years and advises the Chief Financial Officer on taxation related issues and the application of hedge accounting.

Australian Sports Commission – Developed a comprehensive function brief when it decided to replace its Financial Management Information Systems.

APRA regulated Authorised Deposit Taking Institution – Acting Chief Financial Officer Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) – Undertook numerous value for money assessments of offers submitted in tenders and performed financial viability assessments of potential suppliers.
