Adelaide
Our Adelaide office welcome back Taylor Barwa and Antonio de Souza from their Audit & Assurance division whom have returned from a secondment in the US with fellow Nexia firm CohnReznick. Taylor said of his time away “Being given the opportunity to work on different and complex industries has helped me develop my critical thinking that I look forward to apply on my clients back home.”
Canberra
Our Canberra office is pleased to announce the appointment of Naomi Smith to Partner of Taxation Consulting. Naomi is an Australian & UK tax specialist and since joining the Canberra office in 2016, she has used her expertise in cross-border taxation solutions to develop and grow a unique service offering for Nexia Australia. Naomi’s appointment brings the number of Canberra partners to eight.
Christchurch
It has been an exciting start to the year for our Christchurch office new Associates. In Business Advisory, Brylie Gray and Maxine Stokes were promoted internally in April, and Philip Goodman joined the firm in February. Blair Dreaver also joined in March, as Audit Director. Everyone has shown real enthusiasm in their new roles, particularly in the area of Business Development which is a key focus for the firm.
Our Christchurch office are also excited to have Chloe Murray on secondment from the Adelaide office. Chloe has been a great addition to the team, and is fully embracing the Christchurch culture!
Sydney
Our Sydney office is proud to announce the appointment of Jane Fenner as their newly appointed Business Advisory Director. Jane has been with the firm for over 10 years and throughout her tenure she has had a positive impact on both her team and clients.
Sydney are also very pleased to announce the following staff promotions; Erin Tanyag – Associate Director of Audit & Assurance, Jessica Tran – Supervisor in Business Advisory, Victoria Habra – Financial Adviser in Financial Services and Claudia Friess – HR Advisor in Operations.

Our Sydney office officially welcomed 6 new directors and over 40 staff members, formerly of Hill Rogers, on 1 July. Nexa Australia and New Zealand
From 25 to 26 July 2019, our Nexia Australia and New Zealand Tax Group held their annual Tax Conference in Sydney.
Brisbane
May saw both of our Brisbane offices competing in the 2018 Corporate Triathlon as well as the Corporate Games (in running, bowling and tennis). Everyone did a fantastic job with the triathlon team finishing in 2nd place, tennis team in 1st and 2nd, and finally running in 1st place.
Christchurch
Our Christchurch office have been enjoying a very social first half of the year. With a fantastic family picnic day in March, watching the mighty Canterbury Crusaders in April, and then their annual Night at the Races in May, which again saw a great turnout of staff. The Christchurch team also embraced the ‘90s, dressing up in some fantastic outfits for their themed Friday drinks at the end of June. This was then followed by 8 staff taking part in the Mud, Sweat and Tears event doing the whole office proud.
Nexia Day 2019
Thursday 25 July 2019 saw our third international Nexia Day with more than 17,000 staff members participating and delivering activities around the globe.
Within our Australian and New Zealand firms, there were breakfasts, morning and afternoon tea’s held, free coffee’s and cupcakes handed out and presentations delivered on the importance of our relationships and what it means to be part of the Nexia Network. We also produced a national video highlighting what makes our network unique. This video can be seen on the Nexia International YouTube Channel.
Nexia Day is a celebration of our international brand values; Enduring Relationships, Being there for Clients (Globally Connected) and Business Minded, all of which brings us ‘Closer to you’.
