Looking Forward

We are delighted that 2020 finally came to an end and now we look forward to the new year as we continue to come out of COVID restrictions. Whilst it has undoubtedly been a tough year, the holiday season was a welcome break and the future looks bright with more freedoms allowed. Although we cannot change the events of 2020, we can now shape our future as we know that we can and must all be more agile and flexible to manage the unusual circumstances we all experienced.

There were many challenges in Victoria including the shutdown of businesses, restricted freedoms and the drastic shift to working from home but our team continued to support our clients with the same level of professionalism and service excellence that we at Nexia strive for. With each new stimulus that was released, our goal was to ensure that we pivoted promptly and remained continuously up to date, in turn keeping everyone informed and working to create the best possible outcome for our clients’ businesses. We established some new service lines during Covid being Migration services and HR Consulting which we are proud to offer with our usual service offerings. Our advisors assisted many clients with all the government grants and stimulus packages to ensure maximum impact. Some of our clients also took advantage of our management consulting services to help them navigate covid and to successfully improve their positions.

Our firm is now looking to establish a hybrid model of working from our Queen st offices as well as working from home. The program is currently being devised and we will advise more about this once it is finalised. In the meantime, we are holding client and team meetings in the office on an ad hoc basis as required now that we are in 2021 with more latitude. Interestingly enough, the Victorian government announced on January 14 that as of Monday, January 18, 2021, the workforce again is back to 50% being able to work from the office and there is no need to wear masks.

To our Clients.

To our clients, many of whom were adversely impacted by the pandemic, on behalf of the team at Nexia I extend our sincere praise and congratulations for your resilience and perseverance. Thank you to each and every one of you for your continued support in choosing to work with us. We are incredibly grateful and privileged to work with you, we remain at your service and look forward to supporting you moving forward as the economy revitalises

To our Team Members.

Thank you also to our team members, they too have experienced many challenges this year. We have all learned and developed from these challenges and would like to think that we are more resilient and capable from this unprecedented experience .Thank you for continuing with us on this journey and we hope to continue with you all.

To our Business Partners

We are very grateful to our business partners, many of whom went above and beyond to support us this year through various formats.

To our Families and friends

Thank you also to our families and friends who supported us through these uncertain times. In hindsight, it has been a blessing to work at home and spend more time with family members, friends and colleagues.

I will keep my first update for 2021 brief given we can now leave our homes without restrictions and we still have some holiday season left. We don’t want to be staring at screens for any longer than is necessary. There is still work to do as restrictions lift further but we need to place the trust in all to operate in this ‘new normal’ and continue to provide the appropriate safeguards for clients and team members. Rest assured, our Queen St office (when it opens on the 27th January) is now ready for business again with all requisite covid safe practices in place.

On behalf of the team at Nexia Melbourne, we wish you all the best year possible in 2021 and we look forward to working together and helping to revitalise, rebuild and grow together.

Once again, to our valued clients and team members at Nexia Melbourne, thank you.
